Environmental Drilling Technology, Inc offers post-college short courses in drilling engineering which teach skills that have been proven to put more oil in the tank than following conventional API technology.

These courses are taught by people who "wrote the book" in their particular specialties.  EDTI’s instructors are truly experts in their field and their publications have led to numerous industry standards.

For example, Dr. Azar wrote the book on Optimized Drilling Engineering practices which was taught at the University of Tulsa for many years. Dr. Bridges wrote the SPE Monograph on Completion Fluids and worked for Amoco and OSCA for many years.  Mr. Cagle worked for Amoco and owns COSI and is a well know instructor on drilling mud solids control.  Mr. Estes proposed a 3-digit drill bit code in a paper published in the Journal of Petroleum Technology which was standardized by the API and IADC and was supervisor of chemical research for Amoco for many years. Dr. Lal was a senior staff research associate with Amoco and has taught wellbore stability and closed loop mud systems for many years.
